Questions people actually ask
How big should a house sign be?
For a wall by the door, 250 × 100 mm reads comfortably from the path. If it needs to be seen from a road, go to 400 mm wide and keep it to one or two words.
Will oak last outside?
Yes, and it improves. It leaves us oiled; re-oil once a year in full sun and it will outlast the fence it is screwed to.
